I Say Potato, You Say Avocado

Green. That's the word of 2010. Although it reminds us to walk to work, build energy efficient houses and recycle our bottles, it also reminds us to eat healthy. Avocados are a known to reduce cholesterol levels, promote healthy skin and hair, and have a high-fiber content which keeps you fuller longer. Sometimes misconceived as a 'fatty fruit', the monostaturated fat is a staple to a healthy diet. Avocados also have 60% more potassium then bananas and are full of Vitamins B, E and K.

Sheila's has introduced avocados to it's menu in a few different forms. Firstly, in the delicious and ever so popular, Grilled Chicken Panini. The combination of roasted red peppers, olive tapenade, avocado and grilled chicken is delightful. Secondly, you can find avocados in the Cobb Salad. Mixed with hard-boiled eggs, grilled chicken, crispy bacon, and greens, this low-card and high-protein mix is sure to please.

True Blue

Lemonade in the summer is like hot chocolate on a cold winters day, A NECESSITY. Refreshing, crisp and oh so sugary. Now a days, drinks have migrated away from their traditional selves to sport new flavors, thicknesses and colors. This new generation of sport, soft, energy and juice drinks have continued to fascinate our youth and scream, DRINK ME!

Calypso's Ocean Blue Lemonade puts a tasty twist on our favorite summer drink. For those who are passionate about lemonade, this drink is sure to satisfy and quench your summer thirst. Sheila's has it fully stocked and ready for you.

Gobble, Gobble Your Way to Summer Health

Although many of us can fall (or plummet) off the healthy band wagon in the summer, it's important to maintain a relatively balanced diet. One way to do that is to remember to mind your proteins and carbohydrates and always stock your shelves with tons and tons of fresh veggies. Always a fan favorite, the Turkey Club, could be a perfect way to stave off those fatty cravings and get you back on your healthy feet. Loaded with fresh tomatoes and lettuce, and packed with sliced turkey and bacon, this sandwich is hearty and quite healthy. For those looking to re-boost their healthy diets, try it on wheat bread with no mayo. You are sure to be satisfied until your next meal!

Nor'easter vs. Downeaster?

With the days of snowy Nor'easters behind us (hopefully), we are now geared up in shorts and T-shirts ready to bask in the summer sun. Now the lurking question: Where to go?!?

Choo chooo your way to summer!

With the new summer schedule from Amtrak, people can travel from Portland to Old Orchard Beach via train, in just 15 minutes! With free Wi-Fi and roomy, comfortable seats, your summer day is sure to start off right. Also, taking the trip from Boston has never easier. Who wants to deal with the Hampton tolls in mid-July? Taking the Downeaster from North Station to Old Orchard beach takes just over 2 hours. A day trip or a weekend get away, riding the rails is a wonderful way to go.
